Puerto Rico town has rich water resources, with many rivers flowing across its territory, including the Guayas river, as well as the Caguan, Memal, and Riecito rivers, and SMALLER RIVERS such as El aguila, la Caña, Las Pavas, Las Damas, El Desquite, Montecristo, La Esmeralda, La Culebra, El Templete, and La Victoria.

Puerto Ricos’s economy is based in cattle ranching, agriculture, and fishing.

By land: Through the “Marginal de la Selva” road connecting with Florencia and San Vicente del Caguan, and the rest of the country from these two cities.

By water: Puerto Rico is connected by small boats via the Guayas river with many small settlements in the department. There is a few passenger boat companies in town proviiding these services.
