San Basilio de Palenque - Bolivar

It is located in the Municipality of Mahates, close to Canal del Dique with a temperature around 29ºC and it´s aproximately 70 kilometers from Cartagena.

San Basilio de Palenque is very meaningful for being the first place where African descendants had freedom in Colombia and Latin America. It was declared Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO in 2005.
